US presidential candidate Kamala Harris was heavily criticized for proudly tweeting a list of campaign promises aimed squarely at black male voters. As one of her five pledges, she vowed to “protect their crypto investments by letting black men know their money is safe.”
The problem quickly became apparent and her post went viral for all the wrong reasons. Almost without exception, the comments were negative.
“Pandering to black American men is disgusting and degrading,” one observer wrote. “Vote buying should be a crime,” another posted. Many people pointed it out.this is blatant racism”
Thousands of people also liked comments calling her policies racist, confusing, barbaric, absurd and hopeless. Few people posted positive reactions to her announcement.

Harris has crafted her announcement ahead of the Nov. 5 election to appeal to large numbers of voters, but it's unclear whether her efforts will have a positive impact. Indeed, the black demographic is a concern for Democratic pollsters amid questions over Harris' role in the community.
Several polls by cryptocurrency advocacy groups show that: Black men invest disproportionately in crypto assets. While there are important reasons to question this statistic and the polling agency behind it, the Harris campaign may have made this pledge as a way to respond to pressure from groups that cite this statistic.
In fact, it is not clear which black men sought such protection, and it is not clear that anyone of any race would have sought such protection in one of the most obvious ways in which the president could have diverted attention from national issues. It is also not clear that they are expected to in any way “protect” their investments. A dangerous category of speculation.
But if initial reactions to her announcement are any indication, this strange move may actually make voters question her acumen and priorities altogether.
