Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) and one of the loudest voices in the cryptocurrency space. Vitalik Buterin, praised the ecosystem's free speech ideals. However, the claim faced backlash from some people on social media.
what happened: The man behind one of the biggest blockchain projects took to social platform X, taking pride in Ethereum's culture of welcoming criticism and not silencing voices with negative feedback on its work.
Solana (cipher: Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of SOL, supported Buterin's view and considered this to be an industry-wide phenomenon.
“The whole industry is amazing,” Yakavenko said in response to Buterin's post. “It's amazing how engineers from Microsoft, Google, and Apple get together in one chat room and constantly challenge each other's design decisions. I've never done it before,” he wrote.
Price action: At the time of writing, Ethereum was trading at $3,089.07, down 1.43% in the past 24 hours, according to data from Benzinga Pro.
