A widely followed trader is predicting that Ethereum (ETH) is about to significantly overtake Bitcoin (BTC), leading one meme coin to skyrocket.
Anonymous trader Brandts told his 259,000 followers on social media platform X that he was keeping an eye on the two-week chart of the Ethereum vs. Bitcoin (ETH/BTC) pair.
Traders say ETH/BTC has exhibited a rare bullish divergence in the coming days, suggesting Ethereum will outperform Bitcoin. Bullish divergences can signal reversal areas within upward momentum even if the price is declining or flat.
Brandts is targeting the 0.1 BTC level ($6,907), roughly 95% higher than the current ETH/BTC level.
“8 days until ETH/BTC records its first 2-week bullish divergence since *checks notes*… No way.
0.1 [BTC] Obviously we're on target, but we're either way way under or way over.”
Outside of Ethereum, Brandts is also bullish on frog-themed meme coin Pepe, which he calls the best-looking major coin in the space.
He states that Pepe will be the “golden child” of meme coins while ETH/BTC bottoms and regains momentum.
“After all, PEPE was apparently the best looking meme in major league baseball.
Now that ETH/BTC has probably bottomed (in my opinion), I think it will likely continue to be the golden child meme and go higher than many expect, but at the end of the day we're all just speculating here.”
At the time of writing, PEPE is worth $0.000015.
