biggest news
Off-grid: One of the most anticipated blockchain games entered early access last Tuesday. Avalanche-based Off the Grid is now available in limited form on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as PC via the Epic Games Store.
Developed by Gunzilla Games, which has its own Avalanche L1 (aka Subnet) called GUNZ, the game is a battle royale shooter that throws players into a reality show-like experience where they have to fight to survive in a massive online It won't. Match. Players can equip robotic limbs and exchange them during matches to gain new abilities, and the game will also eventually launch GUN tokens, allowing players to mint items as tradable NFTs.
The launch of Early Access had a huge impact thanks to a promotional campaign featuring many popular streamers. Off the Grid seems to be making inroads with mainstream gamers in a way no blockchain game has before, with the game hitting number one on the Epic Games Store's free-to-play chart.
X Empire Airdrop: The makers of the Telegram crypto game I announced that I was ending my play.
X Empire previously ended the “mining phase” but then delayed the airdrop and started a cooling phase to fill time. Since then, the game has surpassed 50 million players.
TikTok Tap to Earn: After tap-to-earn games took over this summer with blockbusters like Hamster Kombat, Notcoin, and X Empire, the genre has expanded to Gen Z-favorite social media app TikTok. Created by the team behind Solana Layer 2 gaming network Sonic SVM, SonicX is a tap-to-earn game that launches natively within TikTok. The game will partner with content creators to run ads on TikTok that users can click to open SonicX.
The game ultimately follows a similar premise to other games in the tap-to-earn genre. Players tap the screen furiously to collect rings, purchase upgrades to passively progress through the game, and invite friends to jump through the ranks. All this in anticipation of future token airdrops, which are yet to be confirmed.
Ubisoft NFT game dates: Gaming giant Ubisoft announced on Thursday that it will release its first original blockchain game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, on October 23rd. This tactical PC role-playing game will be released on the Oasys Home Verse gaming network.
Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles allows players to assemble teams of “champions”, digital collectibles with unique abilities, and engage in multiplayer battles in a dark fantasy setting. The game features 75,000 champion characters and includes a crafting system called The Forge that allows players to combine existing champions to create new champions with different characteristics.
