Today we look forward to announcing the competition for the Pectra audit Cantina! This month's event begins February 21st to March 24thand we look forward to seeing what issues the security community can find.
Why is Pectra important?
Below is a list of some of the important EIPs in Pectra
From EOAS to Smart Accounts (EIP-7702))
- Enhancement Externally owned accounts (EOAS) It has a smart contract function.
Key Benefits
- Transaction Batch: Combine multiple operations into a single transaction.
- Gas sponsorship: Others can pay for your account.
- Alternative Authentication: Use the hardware security module or PassKeys for approval.
- Expense Management: Limits the use/outflow of tokens for improved security.
- Recovery Mechanism: Secure asset protection without changing your main account.
Safety check
- Chain Specific: A delegation valid only with one chain ID.
- Non-Sebound: It is tied to the current NONCE of your account and is automated upon change.
- Exchangeability: EOA owners can revoke/exchange existing delegations at any time.
Improvements to VALDATOR UX
EIP-7251
- Increases the balance of the maximum verification device From 32 ETH to 2048 ETH.
- Enable it Automatic reward combined and Validator Integration (Merge multiple validators with shared withdrawal entitlements).
EIP-7002
- Run layer triggerable drawers: Allows the Ethereum address (not just the validator signing key) to trigger the exit.
- Reduce trust in the delegation: Account owners (Human, DAO, etc.) can force exits without relying on validators.
EIP-6110
- Speed up your deposit process: Reduces the waiting time from ~9 hours to ~13 minutes.
- Deletes the pre-merge buffer for deposit processing (no need after merging).
Blob scaling (EIP-7691))
- Increase Ethereum's BLOB Capacity by 50% (Average 3 to 6, maximum 6 to 9).
- Blobs are short-lived data L2 Proofreduces L1 fees by 10 to 100 times.
- EIP-7623 Cap worst block sizes to manage higher bandwidth.
- Included in future scaling Data Sampling Therefore, the node only stores a subset of the BLOB data.

Audit scope
This competition is specifically targeted at the Pectra Code. The discovered vulnerabilities not unique to Pectra are Ethereum Foundation Bounty Program. By focusing on Pectra in this race, we hope to measure potential problems before the hard forks of the mainnet.
Ethereum Protocol Attackathon Summary
The Ethereum Protocol Attacothon, which was recently hosted on Immunefi, has also been concluded. In collaboration with Immunefi and the Ecosystem Funding Initiative, major ecosystem players – Bybit, Wormhole, Arbitrum Foundation, The Graph, GMX and Base have generically donated matching funds along the Ethereum Foundation. This collective effort highlighted the community's dedication to creating a safer and more resilient blockchain ecosystem.
Ready to get started?
I'm heading to Cantina competition page To get started. For more information about reporting non-competitive vulnerabilities, see Ethereum Foundation's Bug Bounty Program.
We look forward to your discovery. Good luck and happy audits!
