As former President Donald Trump prepares to campaign in front of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin supporters, a tech investor and Silicon Valley insider is explaining why the Republican candidate could spark a crypto renaissance.
“President Trump and J.D. Vance would be the first crypto president and the first crypto administration,” Shervin Pishevar, founder and CEO of Sherpa Capital and EdisonAlpha, said on “Mornings with Maria” on Tuesday. “It's a stark contrast to Biden and Harris' activist appointments across the administration.”
“The FCC, SEC and FDA are other examples,” he listed, “These agencies have appointed activists who have done great harm to our economy and caused enormous problems for many innovative companies.”
Pishevar, whose venture capital group has helped launch companies like Airbnb, Uber, GoPuff, Postmates, Slack and Robinhood, believes a Trump-Vance administration can lead the way in the crypto and technology sector.

“We see America 2.0 coming out of the Manhattan Project for AI, biotech, defense technology,” the founder and CEO said, “and all of the smartest people in it, including Elon Musk, David Sachs, and Ken Howley, are supporting President Trump.”
“We need innovation. We need new jobs. We need new thinking. Inflation is out of control. Fiscal policy is out of control,” he continued. “And at the same time, as we're seeing, the world is getting more dangerous under the Biden-Harris administration.”
This weekend, President Trump will be holding a private fundraiser for his campaign at Bitcoin 2024 in Nashville this month. Attendees will reportedly have to pay $844,600 per person for round table seating at the VIP reception, which also includes a photo opportunity with the Republican presidential candidate. Donors will be paying $60,000 just to attend the reception and have their photo taken with President Trump, or $100,000 per couple.
In May, Trump said that if elected, he would end the “hostility” the cryptocurrency has faced from regulators and Democratic lawmakers in the Biden administration, and last month he gave a strong endorsement of Bitcoin, arguing the cryptocurrency could help make the United States an “energy dominant nation.”
The tech investor noted that he sees a “big shift” in Silicon Valley's leadership and its political alignment.
“You can see that very clearly in the podcast last week where Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz announced their support for President Trump and J.D. Vance,” he said.

“They are the inventors of the internet. Our best and brightest minds can't even have a meeting in the Biden-Harris administration. They've become this anti-business. It's unprecedented,” Pishevar added.
“On the other hand, Trump is embracing our nation's intellectuals and our smartest people, who want to create American dynamism and keep our nation safe.”
