Looking back on 2023, we get a glimpse into what's ahead in 2024
2023 was a great year for the team behind it. ethereum.org websiteand that community – we already feel a bit nostalgic, but it's important that in 2023, the Ethereum.org community creates space for us to celebrate what we build and help us continue to gain momentum in 2024.
In that spirit, we have prepared a summary with 2023 highlights from the ethereum.org community – enjoy reading!
Highlights
📚ethereum.org translatathon
56 languages, 217 participants, and 1.47 million words (🤯) translated in a week-long online competition set the tone for translators to promote the importance of continuously promoting accessibility on Web3 one at a time. It's one of our most proud achievements and the impact and scale deserves very impressive Your own summary post!
Translated images and diagrams
If that is not clear, we strongly believe that the experiences of people who do not speak English should be comparable to those who do so. So I realized that translating pages into Spanish (for example), but leaving all the illustrations and images in English is not ideal. Our team has developed a process for translating visual content. This has greatly improved the experience for everyone visiting non-English-speaking sites.
👛Interactive Wallet Walkthrough
Are you looking to start your web3 journey, but a little worried about jumping straight and downloading DAPP? We were all there before. With that in mind, the Ethereum.org team designed a user-friendly guide on wallet usage to improve the onboarding experience for new Ethereum users. Please test it and Tell me what you think 😀.
etheredeeryum test your ethereum knowledge with a quiz
A learning portal without learning games? Well, it was ethereum.org by June 2023… Now you can test your Ethereum knowledge and get one (or all) of the eight interactive quizzes available Quiz Hub. The community is helping us expand our quiz library so you have an idea, I would like to contribute by creating questions. Check out our contribution guide!
✍ethereum.org Writers Cohort
Try it once, if you like it – And this is why we hosted two editions of the Ethereum.org author cohort. A 3-week online program for people interested in writing about their chosen Ethereum-related topics. With over 400 participants and over 540 articles published, it can be said without a doubt that bringing together the community and learning together, putting ideas on paper and supporting each other is the biggest highlight of this initiative. protocol roadmap: (almost) everything is in one place
Ethereum's roadmap is fluid and constantly adapted, but has been tailored to the latest proposals from builders around the world, building a comprehensive hub that details Ethereum's protocol roadmap in detail. 🏠Guuuu and solidity: a new home on the internet
In addition to maintaining Ethereum.org, our core team supports web development across other projects in the EF community. Over the past year, we have been working on designing and deploying new websites. Goeteriam and Solidity And we couldn't be proud of the outcome – and, more importantly, this is the impact that will have on the Ethereum ecosystem.
New Year, new illustrations
We entered the growth-up era by commissioning eight new illustrations to ethereum.org. It is currently featured on the entire site page (see some: Layer 2, Developer's House, Community Hub). Rather, these artworks are open source and encouraged to be used by the Ethereum community. Please see the assets page About more resources (and inspiration)!
🤲ethereum.org Contributor Round @gg19
As they helped the talented people at Gitcoin, we launched a support round to give back and reward members of our community who made an impactful contribution on Ethereum.org. In total, 19 people were awardedAnd this initiative examined our desire to find more ways to return value to our community in 2024!
🧦, new product, who is diss?
Tokens for our contributors: Over 100 SWAG boxes were shipped to Ethereum.org community members in November – Socks photos We took over our Twitter feed… well, at least we can all agree that they were pretty stylish!
Hackinglinite Infinite Garden Hacking and Playing
In the middle of 2023, ideas began to emerge. What if people were to just a little bit away from the busyness of Web3 events and host a gathering where they could spend time cutting cards/board games in the community? With that premise, we organized (in) finite game At DevConnect IST, feedback from the Ethereum community was overwhelmingly positive. Sadly (or not), our team was too busy playing UNO and forgot to take a photo… Devcon Sea after that?
navigation Navigation Redsign
Ethereum.org is always ongoing work. Before saying goodbye to an eventful year, the team redesigned the website's menu navigation and improved information architecture to improve user navigation. We're rolling out this early in the first quarter, so be aware of this change.
Complete migration to nextjs
With over 16,000 pages and tens of millions of views each year, you can't overlook the engine that runs this ship. After a lot of sweat, lots of tears and countless PRS, we have migrated our ethereum.org Tech stack to NextJS, paving the way for improving site performance, accessibility and scalability. We look forward to shipping a number of new features in 2024, when this change has been enabled!
