Similar to the call from a year ago that a new crypto bull market has arrived, there is also distrust in the latest call that the 2024 alternative season has arrived. That's fine, and that's the way it should be. Because, by definition, sentiment must be terrible at the start of a bull market.

Once again, the public is looking in the wrong direction. It will not be Bitcoin that will be the big success in 2024, but some alternatives. It's not the usual suspects who will become stars in 2024.
The 2024 alternative season will not really be like 2020/2021 when all cryptocurrencies exploded. The new alternate season in 2024 will see him split into two.
What we are saying is that the 2024 crypto bull market will be a hidden bull market. So some alternatives work, but not all. Forget about the 2021 crypto bull market where all cryptocurrencies exploded at the same time. It won't happen this time, at least not in 2024, and probably not in 2025.
The bifurcation, or the fact that not all tokens are increasing at the same time, makes it very difficult to identify trends. The good thing about bifurcation is that at least 99.9% of the world will only learn about the cryptocurrency bull market when most tokens are trading at least 3x or higher, and at this point it is difficult to enter. It will be too late.

Basically, the first leg of this new alternative season is already complete. It started in October 2023 and has now reached resistance.
The chart I used to illustrate this point is the market capitalization of the crypto market. BTC and ETH. There's no better way to track altcoin trends. This is one of the charts I use to not only time my entries and exits in premium crypto services, but also to understand my level of participation in the altcoin world.
The key takeaway from this chart is that the market cap used to be 509 billion. BTC and ETH exceed and the 2024 alternative season officially begins.

The chart above makes sense when you look at it in conjunction with the chart below that shows Bitcoin's dominance is crumbling. After 12 months of dominance, BTC is giving up.

Unsurprisingly, this collapse of BTC's dominance comes just as the long-awaited approval of BTC ETFs took place.

The problem with this is that the majority of investors are waiting to enter the crypto market, likely via one of the Bitcoin ETFs, until approval is confirmed.
It's too late, too late.
Wrong focus. It's not Bitcoin, it's altcoins, and only a few happy people can make a lot of money.

2024 Alternative Season Starts with a Drop

Zooming out, it becomes clear that in the context of the 7-year ascending channel, BTC's decline merely amplifies the long-term bullish structure. This is very bullish for the long term, but a decline is very likely, and that decline will make him an alternate season in 2024 (once the decline is complete).
A bifurcated altcoin market – the 2024 hybrid alt season
