Breaking Bad actor Dean Norris says his account was hacked to promote the DEAN meme coin, which has a market cap of more than $8 million.
On January 25th, Dean Norris' cryptocurrency account was hacked as part of a pump-and-dump scheme that used the actor's celebrity status to promote a meme coin created with his likeness “DEAN” did.
The hackers used a Photoshopped photo of Norris holding a notepad with “$DEAN” and the release date written on it, leading users to believe Norris was launching his own meme coin and promoting it on social media. I was made to believe that there was.

On January 26, the Breaking Bad actor appeared online and revealed that his X account had been hacked for “cryptocurrency sales.” After recovering his account, he posted a video revealing that his account had been hacked to facilitate a cryptocurrency scam.
“This is actually Dean Norris, and that crazy cryptocurrency shit was a complete fake scam. He got hacked, I don't know, he just put it back,” Norris said, adding that the account We thanked the platform for helping us restore access.
He also told users to ignore “whatever it is,” but the damage was already done.
The DEAN token promoted on the actor's page had a market capitalization of $8.4 million as of January 25, according to data from DEX Screener. Since Norris posted the video, its market cap has fallen significantly from its peak, with a price tag of just $57,000.

In another post, Dean Norris criticized people on Reddit who he accuses of issuing crypto tokens and “pumping and dumping” them in order to make profits using them.
