This feature now allows users to quickly check prices without having to go to another platform. However, over the weekend, users noticed that these charts no longer appeared when searching for Bitcoin, but they continued to appear when searching for stocks. Interestingly, searching for “DOGE” still brought up Dogecoin's price chart, and Google's Ethereum Name Service (ENS) balance feature also continued to work.
A Google spokesperson said: decryption “Financial data is sourced from third parties and if we receive inaccurate data, we will temporarily remove it from searches,” the company said. Their response suggests that Google's Bitcoin price data prior to the outage was found to be unreliable and was restored after the issue was resolved.
When price charts were first suspended, netizens shared complaints and theories as to why Google removed Bitcoin price data and charts from its results. Many believed, inaccurately in retrospect, that this was an example of corporate censorship.
“Google is really starting to go bad. This is censorship and it doesn't make any sense. What's the point when you can still easily access prices,” one Reddit user wrote. Bitcoin influencer The Bitcoin Therapist tweeted: “Rumors are circulating that Google may be trying to suppress the Bitcoin bull market by removing price charts during searches. ' he suggested.

Another user claimed that Google removed cryptocurrency price data “because of Trump's support for Bitcoin.”
