When Vancouver-based AquaNow was named Digital Innovator of the Year by CrossTech at its 2022 Innovation Awards, CEO Phil Shum noted that digital asset markets now operate 24/7, upending traditional financial flows.
And that's exactly where he wants to position his company.
Furthering this position, Aquanow launched the Digital Ventures Fund last year to support disruptive blockchain technologies.
“At AquaNoo, we believe in building the scalable cryptosystem that is essential for modern financial services,” CEO Phil Shum said in September.
According to a recent statement from the two companies, AquaNou plans to partner with global cryptocurrency exchange Gate.io in 2024 to “build global liquidity for the next generation of blockchain projects.” The partnership aims to bridge the traditional and digital currency markets with innovative solutions.
“Our partnership with Gate.io, one of the world's leading exchanges, helps expand access to the cryptocurrency markets,” Shum said. “Our partnership with Gate.io marks another step towards our goal of driving the modernization of financial services using cryptocurrency technology.”
Founded in 2013, Gate.io has 13 million users and a daily trading volume of $6 billion.
“We are proud to partner with an organization like Gate.io, which has built a strong reputation among its 13 million users,” Shum said.
“At Gate.io, we remain unwavering in our commitment to remaining an inclusive exchange that offers a seamless trading experience to a diverse range of traders,” said Lin Han, CEO of Gate.io.
“Partnering with AquaNou, a leader in the cryptocurrency market, marks an important milestone in our foundational efforts and growth,” said Han. “Through our collaboration with AquaNou, we plan to play a key role in bridging the traditional and digital currency markets, providing comprehensive and innovative solutions to our users.”
According to the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 list, Aquanow ranks as one of the fastest growing companies in Canada.
Aquanow was founded in 2018.
