- One cryptocurrency user believes Buterin needs to be more involved in X for the benefit of Ethereum.
X owner Elon Musk asked why Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin left the social media network. Musk's question was in response to a user who suggested Buterin needed to return to the platform in an effort to promote Ethereum.
Buterin's accounts on the social media platform are still active at the time of writing, with over 5.2 million followers. However, the data highlighted that Ethereum's co-founder frequently posts on Farcaster, a decentralized social network.
Given the status of Buterin's X account, the original post from the user suggests that the Ethereum co-founder needs to be more proactive about X. He believes that abandoning X for Farcaster is not in the interests of Buterin and Ethereum. According to the user, “Farcaster is not going to win the culture war.”
“If he (Buterin) wants Ethereum to shine, he should get more involved with this platform (X) instead of isolating himself on an island with his chosen allies,” X's tweet read. Ta. The cryptocurrency user believes Buterin would have far more influence if he engaged with the more populous X community.
In January, Buterin admitted that he chose Farcaster over X because of the habits of most X users. Tyler John, a technology policy grantmaker at Longview, had observed the Ethereum founder's posts regularly receiving followers.
According to John, a flood of sycophants, crypto bots, and X followers descended on Buterin's posts with tickers, memes, and expressions of admiration. Such behavior relegates the actual post to the background. Therefore, Ethereum's founders adopted adding “srry 4 rate-ing” to all replies.
Buterin responded to John's post, acknowledging that the situation was part of the reason he commissioned Farcaster to do most of the posting.
