Soneium, Sony's public blockchain, is partnering with Line, a popular messaging and digital services platform, to integrate the four mini-apps into the blockchain network, according to a announcement Wednesday.
The mini apps that will become on-chain are Sleeper Gotch Light, Farm Friends, Moonvale's Puffy Match, and Pocket Mob.
Sleepagotchi Lite, a simplified version of the upcoming Sleep Rewards app, previously reached 1 million users on Telegram within a month. Developed by Amihan Entertainment with over $10 million, Farm Frens brings farming gameplay to Line's user base.
Moonveil's puffy matches expand the reach of the ZK-L2 and AI-powered gaming ecosystem, and Pocket Mob, created by Sonzai Labs, offers social strategy RPG gameplay that allows users to earn points that can be converted into NFT Rewards.
The integrations scheduled to take place in the coming months are intended to make Web3 more accessible and user-friendly.
Through collaboration, Soneium can access a large user base and accelerate its adoption of its platform and technology. The line's established presence, especially in the major Asian markets, provides a solid foundation for implementing blockchain applications to receptive audiences.
“The Line has built a strong presence, and integrating successful mini-apps into the Soneum ecosystem is the next step to making Soniaum more accessible. Jun Watanabe, chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, said:
In the case of Line, the partnership with Soneium positions the messaging giant at the forefront of technological advancements.
Line Mini App Developers benefit from Soneium's resources, including infrastructure, marketing, and community building. This allows developers to focus on innovation and gain experience building Web3 apps.
The announcement covers the enhanced adoption of Web3 in Asia through gaming and social media services, following the introduction of the first batch of Mini Dapps via Line Mobile Messenger last month.
Since its launch last year, Soneium has experienced rapid growth. As of the latest data, the network has collected over 1 million accounts and 4 million total addresses.
However, the number of active accounts has been declining recently amidst the volatility of the crypto market.
