The Ethereum Foundation's EcoDev research team has announced the opening of five six-month research fellowship positions. According to the Ethereum Foundation blog, the initiative aims to explore untapped use cases within the Ethereum (ETH) ecosystem.
Explore new use cases for Ethereum
This fellowship aims to encourage researchers, developers, and industry professionals to explore the potential of Ethereum. Applicants are asked to provide background information and a one-page research proposal. The focus is on early use cases that leverage Ethereum's unique capabilities and generate real-world benefits. Research areas should avoid well-trodden paths such as AMM, lending protocols, and digital art that remain largely unexplored within the ecosystem.
Fellowship Structure and Expectations
Participants will receive a monthly stipend to support full-time research activities. The fellowship requires monthly progress reports and culminates in a final report summarizing the findings. Fellows will collaborate with the EcoDev Research team through regular updates, group chats, and weekly check-ins. This initiative aims to foster a collaborative environment for groundbreaking research.
Application process
Interested candidates should submit their applications by November 15, 2024. This process seeks individuals who are passionate about pioneering new Ethereum use cases and contributing to the evolution of the platform. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to share their insights and shape Ethereum's future trajectory at public events.
The EcoDev Research Fellowship is an important opportunity for those who want to influence the next chapter of Ethereum development. The Ethereum Foundation aims to unlock new possibilities and drive innovation within the blockchain space by focusing on unexplored areas.
