Harris, who was named as the presidential candidate when Joe Biden dropped out of the race on July 21, may speak at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville on July 25.
On July 24, the event's CEO, David Bailey, said he was in negotiations with the campaign to have Kamala Harris speak at the conference.
“It would be very smart for her to reposition the Democratic Party with the fastest growing voter base in the country,” he said.
At the time of writing, it has not been confirmed whether Harris will speak at the conference.
Political competition over cryptocurrencies intensifies
“If Kamala Harris goes to Nashville and eloquently explains why cryptocurrency and Bitcoin are the future and offers reasonable policy recommendations on it, she will win the election.” Opinion expressed Block's Frank Chaparro said in a July 24 post on X:
However, her rival, Republican candidate and former President Donald Trump, is already scheduled to speak at the Bitcoin conference.
In addition to President Trump, who has taken a pro-crypto stance, other prominent politicians are scheduled to speak at the event, including pro-crypto candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, and Senators Bill Hagerty and Marsha Blackburn.
Vice President Kamala Harris hasn't had many public opinions on cryptocurrency, but she is currently researching it as it has become a hot political topic in this year's election.
Billionaire investor Mark Cuban told Politico that she may be open to policy change, and that's the message.
“The feedback I'm getting, and this has not been confirmed by the vice president, is that she's going to be much more open to business, cryptocurrency, and government services.”
She added that she has received multiple questions about cryptocurrency from her campaign, “So, I take that as a good sign.”
Harris' campaign is working to garner support from crypto enthusiasts ahead of the November election.
But rivals have already got a head start, claiming to be the “crypto candidate” with rumors that Trump may announce a US strategic bitcoin reserve at the meeting.
But actually, it’s not that…
Rumors of her possible attendance circulated for a day or so, but Bailey's latest update on the matter denied the possibility based on conversations Harris reportedly had with the team.
