The founder and CEO of an investment firm specializing in digital currencies is considering the next crypto exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the future.
In a new interview with CNBC, Brian Kelly, president of BKCM LLC, responded to speculation that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could approve an Ethereum (ETH) ETF application as soon as tomorrow, naming the digital asset he expects to be next in line to receive ETF approval.
“I think we should probably think about Solana as the next one. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana. Now that there's some clarity about what's a security and what's not, they'll be able to list more cryptocurrencies. That means more trading for them. So I think they'll benefit the most from the changes that have happened.”
Kelly said the cryptocurrency landscape in Washington DC is changing rapidly and in a favorable direction for the crypto industry.
“In general, this has changed the cryptocurrency landscape.
In May, President Trump was asked about cryptocurrencies and replied, “If you want cryptocurrencies, vote for President Trump.” This video went viral and really changed the situation in Washington. Over the past few days, there have been multiple votes in favor of cryptocurrencies. The President said he would veto them, then backed off.
So I think there has been a significant change in the regulatory environment, which is a welcome one for the industry.”
