Smart contract platform Solana (SOL) has risen to the top of CoinGecko’s list of fastest blockchains.
In a new publication, CoinGecko claims that Solana is a staggering 46 times faster than rival Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest digital asset by market capitalization, making it the fastest large-scale blockchain on the market. It states that there is.
However, according to CoinGecko, Solana only reaches 1.6% of its theoretical maximum throughput.
“Solana has proven to be the fastest among large-scale blockchains, with average daily transactions per second (TPS) of 6,000 transactions per second this year, amidst the memecoin frenzy. It reached an all-time high of 1,504 on Sunday.
This makes Solana 46x faster than Ethereum and more than 5x faster than Polygon, which has the highest TPS of any Ethereum scaling solution.
Despite being ranked as the fastest blockchain, Solana only achieves 1.6% of its theoretical maximum speed of 65,000 TPS. ”
According to CoinGecko statistics, Solana's highest throughput was 1,053.7 TPS, while Ethereum's throughput was only 22.70 TPS. This data also shows that Ethereum and its top 10 Layer 2 scaling solutions combined can only achieve 500 TPS.
“In total, Ethereum and its 10 largest scaling solutions recorded a total net TPS of 500, and their combined processing speed is better than BSC (Binance Smart Chain), but still lower than Solana and Sui. it's slow.”
Other fast blockchains on the list include Sui Network (SUI), Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Polygon (MATIC), Toncoin (TON), Tron (TRON), Near Protocol (NEAR), and Avalanche (AVAX) It is included.
Solana is trading at $172 at the time of writing, an increase of 7.63% in the past 24 hours.
